Serbian Authority RATEL stopped issuing Certificates of Conformity of radio equipment from January 1, 2025

Serbian Authority Regulatory Body for Electronic Communications and Postal Activity (RATEL) stopped issuing Certificates of Conformity (CoCs) from January 1, 2025.

CoCs issued by RATEL will remain valid until the expiration date.

For renewal applications of CoCs issued by RATEL before, we will apply to other conformity assessment bodies (CABs), e.g. Idvorski laboratorije, Kvalitet a.d..

Since Serbian label contains “identification number of the CAB” and “the year of issue of the CoC”, client should revise the Serbian label accordingly after receiving CoCs from another CAB.

If it’s impossible to put such Serbian label on the equipment, it can be affixed on the package or accompanying documentation instead.

There is no need to change the Serbian label of the products that are already in the Serbian market.

Please refer to Authority’s website for official announcement:

Serbia will implement Rulebook on Radio Equipment on June 1, 2024

The Serbian Authority Ministry of Information and Telecommunications recently adopted the “Rulebook on Radio Equipment” (the “Rulebook”), which will be implemented on June 1, 2024. (some Articles will be enforced on later dates)

According this Rulebook, the certification requirements, application documents and labelling requirements for radio equipment remain unchanged:

-Radio equipment is subject to mandatory Certificate of Conformity (CoC) until December 31, 2026.

-Certified radio equipment should be marked with the Serbian mark of conformity before being placed on the market.

-For radio equipment imported into the Republic of Serbia, if the Declaration of Conformity (DoC) is not made in the Serbian language, the person who puts the radio equipment on the market provides its translation into the Serbian language.

However, some changes will happen after implementation of the “Rulebook”:

-For all radio products: starting from June 1, 2024

(1)CoC validity will become 5 years.

(2)The radio equipment should bear the type, batch or serial number or other elements that enable its identification, manufacturer’sand importer’s business name, registered trade markand postal address. (if it’s impossible, the information can be placed on the packaging or in the accompanying document with the radio equipment)

(3)Manufacturer’s contact address and importer’s business name, trade markand postal address should be provided in Serbian language.

(4)The instructions and safety information of the product should be made in Serbian language and should include the information that is necessary for the use of the radio equipment in accordance with the intended purpose. In the case of radio equipment that intentionally emits radio waves, the information about the radio frequency range(s) and maximum radio frequency power transmitted should also be included.

-For 13 types of products with charging capabilities (e.g.mobile phones, tablets, portable computers): starting from Dec. 28, 2024 or April 28, 2026:

Information about specification related to the charging capabilities for the radio equipment and compatible charging devices should be included in the instructions and safety information of the product.
