TRA granted a transitional period from type approval to the importers of automotive products.

On May 8, 2026, the Lebanon Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) officially granted a one-year transitional period, during which the importation into Lebanon of new vehicles by the official representatives of global automotive manufacturers in Lebanon should not subject to prior issuance of a TRA Type Approval Certificate for the connected devices embedded in such vehicles, nor for their respective spare parts.

During this period, the relevant Type Approval preparation process shall continue, where applicable, Type Approval application should be initiated by the component manufacturers or the vehicle manufacturer.
