Niger ARCEP Publishes Answers on New Type Approval Requirements
The Autorité de Régulation des Communications Électroniques et de La Poste (ARCEP) published another decision for type approval procedure on 8th October, 2025 including the label requirement. The amendment to this decision was subsequently issued on 8th January 2026..
After receiving several inquiries regarding the type approval requirements, ARCEP Issued a document providing Answers to questions raised following the notification of the new type approval regulations. The document further clarified the requirements established by the decision of October 8th, 2025 and the Amendment of January 8, 2026
The main points are as below:
1. It is not required to affix label on equipment that obtained the approval before October 8th, 2025.
2. The label format as below should include NGR logo, manufacturer name, brand name and model number.

3. A physical sample is not necessary if the submitted document complies with the authority’s requirements.

Niger ARCEP published new decree for type approval regulation
The Autorité de Régulation des Communications Électroniques et de La Poste (ARCEP) published new decree for type approval regulation which is implemented on 18th February 2025.
The main changes are as below:
- Certificate validity is changed to 3 years for the certificate issued after February 2025.
- The equipment exempted from type approval are portable equipment used solely for the reception of sound broadcasting programs and equipment for the needs of national defense and public security.
