CMC published Regulatory Framework for Short Range (SRD) & UWB Devices 2025

In October 2025, the Communications and Media Commission (CMC) of Iraq published the Regulatory Framework for Short Range Devices (SRD) and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) Devices.

The new regulation aims to modernize spectrum management, support emerging technologies such as Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7, and expand frequency bands, including the WLAN band (5925–6425 MHz).

The regulation mandates compliance with strict technical standards aligned with ETSI and ITU guidelines, such as the allowed bands and output power limits.
