Exempt Res. 2219 amends Exempt Res. 737

The Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones (SUBTEL) published Resolution 2219 EXENTA on November 24, 2025. This resolution modifies Resolution N° 1985 EXENTA (2017) and Resolution 737 EXENTA (2025). This update introduces adjustments mainly to the QR code labeling and transitional rules.

1. QR Code Labeling Requirements: The QR code must be printed or affixed in a visible place on the outer packaging. If not feasible, the QR code may be placed directly on the equipment itself or included in accompanying paper documentation (e.g., user manual, warranty, or other materials.).

2. Transitional Provision for Certified Equipment: For equipment approved by SUBTEL before February 21, 2026, publishing the Certification Letter on the manufacturer’s (or importer’s) website will be sufficient instead of the full information required under items A, B, and C of QR code requirements in Resolution 737 EXENTA (2025)

Exempt Resolution No. 737

Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones (SUBTEL) issued Resolution 737 Extenta on May 22, 2025. The new resolution limits mandatory certification to medical Short Range Devices. Non-medical Short Range Devices are exempted from SUBTEL certification but must display a QR code on the packaging, linking to a Spanish-language website with the content which indicates the following three items:

1. Commercial information about the equipment and the manufacturer or importer in Chile.

2. Technical characteristics of the equipment.

3. Declaration of Conformity, which specifies that the equipment complies with Chilean standards.

The new resolution 737 Extenta will be enforced after nine months (February 22, 2026) of the publication date.
