The INSTITUTO FEDERAL DE TELECOMUNICACIONES (IFETEL) published a new regulation, IFT-016-2024, on February 7, 2025, which will be enforced after 270 days of the publishing date (November 4, 2025). The new regulation applies for Low Power radio communication devices operating within 30 MHz to 3 GHz.
Currently, for the certain bands, such as 315MHz, 433MHz, DECT and other bands for non-published NOMs are certified by document application by Perito technical opinion. Once the IFT-016-2024 new regulation is enforced, local testing will become mandatory to obtain IFT-016-2024 certificate.
